The Aruga Branca Pipa Koshu from Katsunuma Winery (Katsunuma Jōzō) in Yamanashi is crafted from 100% locally grown Koshu grapes. Fermented in French oak barrels for two weeks, then six months aging in barrel followed by two years bottle aging, this wine expresses refined complexity. It delivers a contrast between Koshu’s innate brightness and the richness lent by oak: expect notes of white peach, citrus pith, light spice, and subtle toasted nuttiness, layered over crisp minerality and a fine textural structure.
