Tasting Notes

Named after the former temple “Muryōzan” where the Heiwa Shuzō brewery now stands, KID Muryozan 30 is the flagship of the KID series. Using Grade A Yamada Nishiki rice from Hyōgo, polished to 30%, this sake demands remarkable precision at every stage of brewing. It offers a multi-layered, elegant aroma, with notes of melon, ripe pear, honeycomb, and vanilla bean, and a smooth, velvety body. True to Niigata’s influence, its finish is clean, crisp, and refined.

The Champion's Masterpiece: Muryozan represents the absolute peak of Heiwa Shuzo, a brewery awarded the prestigious title of "Sake Brewer of the Year" at the IWC. Polished to 30%, this sake is a testament to their mastery of soft water brewing. It offers a crystalline texture with notes of fresh pear and melon, finishing with a gentle, vanishing tail.

Overview

Brewed in Kainan City, Wakayama Prefecture, the brewery bears the name Heiwa (meaning “peace”), a name adopted post-World War II. While it shines chilled, warming this sake gently enhances its texture and depth. Serve chilled (8–12 °C) in a wine glass to experience its full aromatic range. Recommended pairings include fatty tuna, sea urchin, trout roe, caviar, and other rich seafood, dishes that complement the sake’s elegance and power.
