Tasting Notes

Noguchi Naohiko 01 Special Edition is a rare, limited-release sake crafted by legendary brewmaster Noguchi Naohiko himself. Since founding the Noguchi Naohiko Sake Institute in 2017, Noguchi has continued to push the boundaries of sake artistry. This exclusive bottling is a special blend of multiple vintages and rice varieties, carefully aged and assembled by Noguchi to achieve a one-of-a-kind profile. Only 888 bottles were produced, each individually numbered and presented in a striking crimson bottle.

Brewed in the Yamahai style using Omachi rice from Okayama Prefecture and Yamada Nishiki from Hyogo’s Tojo Special A District, this sake offers a complex, fresh lychee-like aroma, layered umami, refined acidity, and a long, elegant finish. The carefully developed umami makes it an excellent pairing for sweeter foods such as dried fruits and aged charcuterie.

An extraordinary and collectible release, Noguchi Naohiko 01 Special Edition is a bold and harmonious blend of tradition, aging, and masterful blending, crafted for true connoisseurs and those who seek the rarest expressions in sake.
