Part of the Edo-gaeri series, Retro represents a return to tradition while reinterpreting it for today. Brewed with the kimoto starter method, using pure groundwater from the Kinu River and no additives, this sake highlights the expressive power of Omachi rice, Japan’s oldest sake rice variety. Its aroma is fresh and restrained, recalling banana and melon. On the palate, it delivers the signature sweet-and-sour character of both Omachi rice and Senkin’s style, evoking the nostalgic taste of sake from two decades ago.

Best enjoyed chilled (8–12 °C), it pairs beautifully with dishes that emphasize umami depth and layered richness, from shiokara and miso-based preparations to creamy chicken and savory seafood dishes.
