Tasting Notes

Shichiken Oonakaya is a graceful Junmai Daiginjo that exemplifies elegance through restraint and balance. Named after the brewery’s original trade name “Oonakaya,” this sake is crafted with the utmost care using the exceptionally soft and pure waters from Mt. Kaikoma and the Southern Japanese Alps. It delivers a clean, silky texture with delicate notes of white flowers, gentle rice sweetness, and subtle mineral nuances, refined yet approachable from the first sip.

An elegant and polished Junmai Daiginjo, Shichiken Oonakaya reflects the harmony of pristine water and careful brewing, perfect for those who seek quiet sophistication in their sake.

great with sashimi

Tried Shichiken Oonakaya Junmai Daiginjo for the first time last weekend and really enjoyed it. It’s clean, smooth, and has a gentle aroma doesn’t feel overwhelming. There’s a nice balance between sweetness and acidity, making it easy to sip slowly, definitely something I’d keep around for special dinners or a quiet night in.
